San Francisco 49ers open call for Cheerleaders



The San Francisco 49ers are hosting open auditions for the opportunity to join the 49ers 2010 Gold Rush Squad. The Gold Rush, presented by Coors Light, are one of the NFL's premiere performance groups.

You must be at least 18 years of age by May 1, 2010 (there is no maximum age limit). Team members must have flexible schedules for Saturday rehearsals starting April 17th, all 49ers home games, photo shoots for the calendar and team photo card, as well as appearances during and prior to the season. Team members must attend a mandatory 3-day mini-camp during a weekend in May. Team members must also have a reliable means of transportation.

Preliminary Auditions Details

A two-piece leotard (half top and briefs or boy cut shorts) with flesh colored hosiery is required. Jazz, dance shoes or athletic shoes (minimal tread and non-marking soles) are also mandatory. We strongly recommend that you wear your hair down although it does not need to be a certain length or style. You may also want to wear make up for the audition. It is a long day, so please come prepare with snacks, water, and/or lunch for the day.

Applicants will be required to learn a short dance combination taught by a professional choreographer and perform that routine in a group in front of a panel of judges. They will be judged on dance ability, crowd appeal, showmanship and individual applications. At the end of the preliminary audition, a group of finalists will be selected.

Finalists selected on March 28 must be available for a finals prep class, interview and final dance audition during the week of March 29th - April 2nd, 2010.

Over the past 27 years, the 49ers Cheerleaders have established a reputation as one of the NFL's premiere performance groups. The squad has been featured on many national television shows, performed for numerous USO tours around the world, and appeared in four Super Bowls.
